It's been more than forty years since Sammy Zito, his late father 'Big Sam', and his wife Laura began the business with their office in the kitchen of Laura and Sammy's house. Shortly thereafter Sammy's brother C. Mack Zito joined the team. Through hard work and dedication the Zito Family has proved that hard work and dedication can pay off.

From these humble beginnings, the Zito Companies have grown, prospered, and evolved into an internationally recognized organization providing a multitude of services to the maritime industry throughout the United States, South and Central America, and world wide.

In recent years, Zito Companies has diversified and grown with new additions in the Crane division as well as expanding all Towing, Fleeting, and Shipyard operations. Some of Zito Companies most recent additions include a new 2500 ton dry-dock, four completely rebuilt and re-powered 1500 hp harbor push-boats and approx. 4000 feet of fleeting space in the port of New Orleans. Zito continues to build relationships with transport of boats, tank and dry bulk barges, engines, heavy equipment and facilitating the transport of any mechanical merchandise customers desire to purchase and transport from the United States overseas.
